Pitot/AOA lines and planning

RUNNING THE PITOT LINES

I had a bit of paralysis regarding running the pitot lines recently. I spent some time researching and planning every aspect of these lines. Finally, I settled on an exact length I wanted to use, how much extra to leave so I can remove the pitot mast for service in the future, and how to prepare it all for a wing root attachment. After all of that back and forth, it turns out I waited for almost no reason. Running and trimming the lines was no big deal.

When I go to attach the lines to the pitot mast, I will have to look at how I want to make the connection between nylon and aluminum lines. I think I have a good idea, but as always, more research awaits.

PLANNING FOR WIRE RUNS

The left wing will be pretty straightforward on the wiring. I will be using the Aveo Engineering ZipTips product for lighting. This greatly simplifies the wiring needs and I am excited about that.

The four pin is for the rear light connection and the the 16 pin is to connect to the panel.

This is the back of the wingtip lighting assembly. Aveo has a good wiring diagram to go with their product. I will be making a 16 pin CPC connector to attach to the back of this housing. The 4 pin piece is already assembled and runs to the tail of the wingtip for the strobes.

Overall, this has been a productive day. I’m looking forward to keeping up the forward momentum.
