Moving day

LET’S START WITH A TRUCK

I thought it would take more time and planning, but I was wrong. Moving day is here. Perhaps a bit more thought was merited, but I had a day off and my dad was available to help so we put a square peg in a round hole and made it work. We picked up a large 26′ box truck to start. I considered a trailer to tow behind my truck, but having a fully enclosed box truck was too much to pass up.

We grabbed an egregious number of pads from the loading dock and took off. The pads came in handy. I packed everything in tight and used no less than three ratchet straps for every item. Nothing was too close to anything else, and it was all pretty much permanently attached to the truck. No doubt I was overly cautious for an airport that was less than 7 miles from my house with no interstate travel required. Oh well. I’m happy with the outcome. It’s moving day after all.

UNPACKING INTO THE HANGAR

I promised to reunite my work tables with each other, and here they are. I have also brought the rest of my plane as well. Honestly, I could not possibly be happier with how this move went. We were able to place all of the completed parts on blankets and carpets as well as identify some storage for other pieces in process.

It is starting to look like a workshop finally!

And of course, some chairs to complete the living room.
